Neutrinos; A Small Slice of a Large Apple

Alright! Now we get to discuss neutrinos without having me having to worry about being reduced to my component parts. And while I think my component sections are lovely, I’m sure you would rather not go there.

Neutrinos are interesting tiny guys, meaning literally “neutral elementary particle”. An elementary particle is basically something which is not known to have smaller components. We utilized to believe atoms were the smallest possible units of mass. Now we know, needless to say, that “atoms” are whopping Massive units of mass.

When we start off talking about â€elementary particles”, you are truly referring to particle physics. You easily get into leptons, bosons, positrons, muons, tau neutrinos, and lots of other really cool words you swore in freshman algebra youâ€d never use.

Guess again.

Particle physics is also where String Concept comes in, but we aren’t playing around in THAT sandbox currently.
Large Apple
Okay… here’s the quite basics. You may accept that everything is composed of little elements, proper? I mean, c’mon guys. You swallowed atomic concept without gagging, correct? You’re just going to possess to realize that an atom may be the apple, and it might be sliced and diced into all kinds of tiny sections and pieces. Some of these sections have a positive charge, some a damaging charge, and some are neutral. Still with me?

You just certainly not realized how extremely many pieces and components atoms might be sliced into.

Definitely, you’re additional than half-way there. You have the concept of atoms down, appropriate? You possess the entire negative/positive/neutral factor going, proper?

We’ll leave string theory for an additional day.
