Set your homepage to Astronomy Photo of the Day:
http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html
And you’ll see a neat photograph and learn new very little tidbits of info every single day.

All stars are outdoors of the solar program, except the sun.

Almost all the stars we can see with the naked eye are in what most people would call our part of the Milky Way. But some famous ones which are very far away are Eta Carinae, Epsilon Aurigae, and Deneb. There are some others between these distances which are not well known.
